McKinney Economic Development Corporation, Convention & Visitors Bureau unveil revamped websites

McKINNEY, TEXAS, 2013-01-31 — /travelprnews.com/ — Prospective businesses and visitors alike now have new convenient tools to locate information about McKinney easily. The McKinney Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the McKinney Convention & Visitors Bureau (MCVB) have rolled out new websites recently. Both sites underwent a transformation with the goal of a more user-friendly and easily navigated experience for the end user, all packaged in a more modern design.

The new sites offer a fresh, new design consistent with the city’s brand and newly redeveloped website, but with a distinct look and feel representative of the individual goals of each entity. Both sites are mobile-friendly, allowing necessary mobile access for the various target audiences for both organizations.

In addition to the new designs, the website solution for each organization offers a robust set of features, including an individual content management area that makes updates easy. Added features at the MEDC site, www.McKinneyEDC, include sections just for site selectors, featured sections for company testimonials and spotlight properties, and a more transparent and easily navigable menu.

“A strong online presence is essential in economic development. McKinney has a unique story to tell prospective businesses, and this new website is a great starting point for gathering information from anywhere in the world,” said Jim Wehmeier, MEDC President & CEO.

The new website for MCVB, www.visitMcKinney.com, features many much-needed updates, all aimed at making the site easier for visitors to use from their computers and smartphones. The new website allows for blog hosting, photo albums and an easier-to-

use interface for the calendar of events. Documents such as the Visitors Guide and Meeting Planners Guide are now also easily accessible. Also found on the site are quick links to the MCVB social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest) and contact information – sometimes the most important tool for groups interested in McKinney. The home page provides quick access to download links for the “Visit McKinney Texas” Smartphone app, which launched in Summer 2011, and easy-to-find information for meeting and event planners.

“We strive to be the calendar of events for the city, a place where visitors and residents alike can visit to find out about the fun events in our community,” said Dee-dee Guerra, MCVB Interim Executive Director and Tourism Sales Manager. “The site is still a workin-progress as our staff continues working to add more information to it every few days.

We are thrilled with the way it turned out and know that people will enjoy using our beautiful new website.”
