The current Steigenberger Hotel Sanssouci Potsdam is being renovated and redesigned from the ground up. All 137 rooms of the hotel are already equipped according to the new young design, the renovation of kitchen and restaurant is completed. In the public areas, the conversion work is currently in full swing. Potsdam’s new flagship will open on August 1st, 2019.

“The former Steigenberger is simply the perfect MAXX hotel.”, said Thomas Willms, CEO Deutsche Hospitality, at the presentation of the hotel, “Located directly at the Schlosspark it offers ideal fitness possibilities. The city centre, with its young art and culture scene, is only a few metres away. Moreover, the young team around the hotel director Thomas Schneider works with a lot of passion and commitment every day towards the opening in August.”

The hotel was already part of the Deutsche Hospitality portfolio before the renovation. As part of Evolution Steigenberger, the former Steigenberger Hotel is now part of MAXX by Steigenberger.

Curtain up for fresh soft skills

Potsdam and Brandenburg also look back on a rich culinary tradition. This tradition is interpreted in a modern way in the hotel restaurant, always with ecological claim and therefore, above all regional and seasonal.

This concept can also be found in Friedrich’s Bistrobar, which offers international cocktails as well as local craft beers.

Six event rooms with daylight for up to 120 people are available for seminars and incentives. If the weather is beautiful, catering can take place in the historic Kutscherhof.
