Leeds, UK, 2014-1-7 — /travelprnews.com/ — Leeds Bradford Airport has just completed a record breaking number of passengers in 2013 with 3.3 million flying through the airport, an increase of 11% on the previous calendar year.
As the UK’s fastest growing top 20 airport, the last 12 months have seen Yorkshire’s gateway airport expand to serve over 70 domestic and international destinations alongside the introduction of important new airlines such as British Airways, Monarch and Thomson Airways.
With our widest ever destination choice, business and leisure travellers have flown on new routes to London Heathrow and connected to over 70 worldwide destinations from Terminal 5, skiers have taken advantage of new services to Grenoble and Innsbruck and sun worshippers have flown to new Jet2 destinations of Split and Pula in Croatia and Zante in Greece.
2014 will build upon this successful year following the recent announcement of new services by scandinavia’s flag carrier SAS who will commence services from March to Copenhagen from the end of March.
The reintroduction of flights in the Spring to Budapest by Jet2.com alongside new summer services to Kos, Reus and Verona will provide travellers with increase choice for holidays or city breaks.
Eastern Airways will also introduce its second route at LBA with a new thrice daily service to Southampton from 20th January offering quick and direct links to the South of England.
