(PRESS RELEASE) SEOUL, 2026-Feb-10 — /Travel PR News/ — Korean Air and Asiana Airlines are marking the Lunar New Year by jointly installing traditional Bokjori decorations at eight major locations across South Korea from February 10 to February 23. The initiative highlights both airlines’ commitment to celebrating and preserving Korean cultural traditions while welcoming the new year with messages of prosperity and well-being.

Bokjori—handwoven bamboo strainers traditionally used in rice preparation—hold deep symbolic meaning in Korean culture. On the first day of the Lunar New Year, families customarily hang Bokjori in their homes as a gesture of gathering good fortune, abundance, and positive energy for the year ahead.

Korean Air has observed this custom annually since 2008 by hosting its own Bokjori hanging event. This year, however, is the first time Asiana Airlines has joined the initiative, reflecting the two carriers’ forthcoming integration and their shared dedication to customer service and cultural heritage. The decorations are being showcased at prominent sites including the check-in counters of both airlines at Incheon International Airport Terminal 2, as well as at their respective corporate headquarters in Seoul.

Through this joint display, the airlines aim to extend warm wishes of health, happiness, and prosperity to passengers and employees during the Year of the Red Horse, while also raising awareness of a meaningful and enduring aspect of Korean tradition.
