KLM Appoints Bas Brouns as CFO and Managing Director, Succeeding Erik Swelheim

(IN SHORT) KLM has announced its intention to appoint Bas Brouns as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Managing Director, effective April 24, 2024. He will take over from Erik Swelheim, who will step down as KLM’s CFO after serving for 12 years. Bas Brouns, currently the Senior Vice President Corporate Controller at KLM, brings nearly 27 years of experience with the airline, having held various financial positions. The decision has received positive feedback, and assuming shareholder approval, KLM’s Managing Board will include Marjan Rintel as CEO, Bas Brouns as CFO, and other key executives.
