Jersey Tourism partnered with Sunair and Buro Britain over new direct charter flight service to Jersey from Rotterdam in 2015

JERSEY, 2015-1-7 — /Travel PR News/ — Following the recent announcement by Blue Islands to cancel the 2015 Amsterdam route, Jersey Tourism has partnered with Sunair and Buro Britain who have confirmed that they will operate a new direct charter flight service to Jersey from Rotterdam in 2015, flying from May 02 to September 12 2015.

Jersey Tourism has been working with Sunair and Buro Britain for many years promoting Jersey in the Netherlands, David de Carteret, Director of Jersey Tourism said;

“We are delighted that we have been able to play an instrumental role in securing this direct charter, nearly 3,000 staying leisure visitors came to the island last year, an increase of 23%, this is a good growth market for Jersey and it was important that we secured a new air link.

Working closely with Sunair and Buro Britain, who are leading Netherlands travel trade firms, we are delighted to have been able to secure this link for Jersey, which is already selling very well.”

The service will operate throughout Jersey’s main holiday season with capacity to bring 1,000 passengers into the Island.

Operating on Saturdays, across twenty dates, the 50 seat aircraft have the potential to deliver 7,000 additional bed nights to the visitor economy.

Sunair, an independent operator specializing in short breaks and the UK, and Buro Britain, a leading tour operator focusing on North West Europe, both have well established relationships with the Channel Islands and will share the charter.

Sunair will launch their Channel Islands programme for 2015 at next year’s Vakantiebeurs travel show in Utrecht. Jersey Tourism will be working together with the operator at the event and throughout the year to ensure the success of the new route.
