Hilton Sydney Unveils Striking New Executive Lounge

SYDNEY – 2012-12-05 — /travelprnews.com/ — Hilton Sydney has recently unveiled a completely restyled Executive Lounge as part of an A$7million upgrade to the Hilton guest rooms and executive lounge. The renovation is part of a three-year, $3 billion plan of significant property renovations currently underway across the global portfolio of Hilton Hotels & Resorts, the flagship brand of Hilton Worldwide.

The new lounge has been increased by 60% and now seats up to 120 guests with the introduction of communal and private alcoves and redesigned boardroom, allowing the lounge to accommodate its guests in absolute comfort.

Space and light were key design elements when redesigning the lounge. The new lounge has been created to provide a sophisticated and relaxed setting where guests can choose to socialise either in pairs or groups with a range of communal seating options.

The use of two communal tables has been introduced into the space to encourage interaction and allows for groups to mingle together without disturbing other guests. The lounge’s boardroom has been increased and seats up to 12 guests and features sweeping views across Sydney and built-in audio-visual. The boardroom can be reserved for meetings or broken down into smaller tables for dining or having a drink in the evening as well it can also function as an entertainment room to watch sporting events or conduct presentations and teleconferences.

Dining service has been reinvigorated with the lounge’s buffet being expanded to make it easier for the guests to access their favourite dishes. A bar alcove was introduced which metamorphosis’s from a coffee and juice bar in the morning to a serviced bar at night allowing for a more efficient service. The lounges menus have been carefully crafted encompassing a mix of cuisines from Spanish antipasti to Japanese and fresh seafood to suit all palates. Guests choosing to stay in the executive rooms, relaxation rooms and suites have access to the restyled executive lounge, serving deluxe continental breakfast, all day refreshments and evening drinks and canapés.

Hilton Sydney, general manager, Michael Bourne said Hilton Sydney is a local icon, a landmark renowned for consistently delivering a world-class product offering and service. The launch of the new lounge and guest rooms is aimed at re-engaging with our corporate and leisure clientele ensuring Hilton Sydney is top of mind when deciding where to stay. “We are one of the most centrally located five-star hotels in the city, with the upgrade of the lounge and Hilton guest rooms we are one of the most-up-to-date award-winning products in the Sydney market.”

Designed by acclaimed Australian architect Mark Landini the lounge’s unpretentious minimalist design has maximised the use of natural light and worked with bursts of colour to produce timeless aesthetics. Raw materials including exposed concrete, glass and timber have been used to create an urban feel, suited to the hotel’s location as well as evoke a friendly and welcoming atmosphere throughout the day and into the evening.

Landini Associates Creative Director Mark Landini was engaged with redesigning the lounge to modernise the space and make it operate more efficiently.

“Hilton Sydney is an iconic hotel and as such we wanted to do something simple, modern and classic in keeping with its tradition. The space has been designed to be a restful haven for the busy executive, to meet, eat and dine in peace and tranquillity in the heart of this great city”, he said.

The launch of the refurbished executive lounge and guest rooms follows the hotel’s award winning year including winning “Overall Hotel of the Year – Accommodation Division” at the Australian Hotels Association 2012 National Awards for Excellence.
