Guinness World Record: The World’s Largest Soft Toy Mosaic at Four Seasons Hotel Beijing

Beijing, China, 2016-Dec-23 — /Travel PR News/ — In this season of good cheer we celebrate friends and family, making memories that last a lifetime. Four SeasonsHotel Beijing is keeping the magic of Christmas dreams alive with a new Guinness World Record: The World’s Largest Soft Toy Mosaic. Displayed in conjunction with the Homie Pop-up Shop, both are raising funds to support charitable causes and have turned the Hotel into a festive wonderland to celebrate the 2016 holiday season.

“It’s time to enjoy a new spirit of love, hope and joy conveyed through each and every twinkling light on our Christmas tree,” said General Manager Andrew De Brito. “It is also the time for giving. Four Seasons Hotel Beijing is happy to collaborate with Sheng Tong Tong to break the world record and to donate five percent of the proceeds of the soft toy sales to Educating Girls of Rural China (EGRC). We want to give these underprivileged girls the gift of hope.”

Light Up the Night

Nothing warms the heart like the lighting of a Christmas tree. More than 100 foreign diplomats, media and distinguished guests met at Opus on December 10, 2016 for a festive celebration at the Hotel’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Attendees at the radiant gathering enjoyed a sumptuous buffet featuring the chef’s signature marinated salmon gravlax, beef wellington, panettone bread pudding and caramelised pine nut ice cream. Santa himself made a special appearance to listen to children’s secret holiday wishes.

Holiday Pop Up

On December 10, 2016, Sheng Tong Tong set a new Guinness World Record at Four Seasons Hotel Beijing with the World’s Largest Soft Toy Mosaic, an amazing creation comprised of 3,496 Homie soft toy bears taking up a space of 132.99 square metres or 1,431.49 square feet (9.3 metres by 14.3 metres, or 30.51 feet by 46.92 feet).

Sheng Tong Tong’s Homie Pop Up Shop is also on display in the Hotel lobby until February 15, 2017. This warm holiday welcome is a part of the Hotel’s commitment to guests and the community. Four Seasons Hotel Beijing continually supports the development of contemporary Chinese art, and strives to create a dynamic artistic ambiance in the Hotel.

A Season for Giving

The holidays are a time for giving thanks and giving back, of supporting those around us and lifting them up. In honour of this spirit of charity, five percent of the sale of each bear in the Guinness World Record-setting Soft Toy Mosaic will be donated to Educating Girls of Rural China (EGRC). This organisation is dedicated to providing high school and university educations to impoverished young women from rural regions of Western China through financial sponsorship, personal support and mentorship.
