2013-01-14 — /travelprnews.com/ — Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok is organizing its sixth Cancer Care Charity Fun Run in Lumpini Park on Saturday, February 23, 2013, in association with the Thai Red Cross Society and other valuable partners. Proceeds from the Run will go towards research projects currently conducted by the Hematological Cancer Research Centre at Chulalongkorn Hospital.
Partnering with Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok and the Thai Red Cross Society on this event will be the Embassy of Canada to Thailand, B Grimm & Co, ROP, Ananda Development PCL, Boonrawd Brewery Co Ltd, and Starbucks Coffee (Thailand) Co Ltd, as well as media partners Bangkok 101, BK Magazine, Masala Magazine and Thailand Panorama.
For the past 19 years, Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok has held charity runs to raise funds for cancer research. In conjunction with sister properties Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai and Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, last year’s run successfully raised THB 3.7 million, which was donated to the Hematological Cancer Research Center.
Beginning and ending inside Lumpini Park, the Run promises to be a fun and enjoyable Saturday outing for joggers and non-joggers alike, be they families, corporate groups or health enthusiasts. And there’s no compulsion to run – participants are welcome to complete the course at their own pace, and may simply enjoy a stroll if they so prefer. Both the 5-kilometre (3-mile) and 10-kilometre (5-mile) routes are perfect for running or walking, and the Queen’s Trophy will be awarded to the largest group participating in the run. In addition, activities are lined up for children with prizes to be won, and further prizes await participants who reach the finish line. Registration is from 7:00 am to 7:45 am, and the official starting time is 8:05 am.
Participants are invited to join the run with a minimum donation of THB 350.00, representing the cost of an official Cancer Care t-shirt, or THB 500.00, representing the cost of an official Cancer Care polo shirt. The participation fee also includes a breakfast box and the chance to win exciting prizes including accommodation vouchers for stays at Four Seasons hotels and resorts around the world.
