Fiji Airways extends exclusive airline sponsorship of the Crusaders

Nadi, Fiji, 2019-Nov-18 — /Travel PR News/ — Fiji’s National Airline, Fiji Airways, has today (15 November 2019) announced it has extended its exclusive airline sponsorship of the Crusaders. The partnership will see Fiji Airways feature on the front of the Crusaders’ away jerseys from 2020.

Crusaders CEO Colin Mansbridge said: “This will be the first time the Crusaders has had a separate front-of-jersey sponsor for our home and away jerseys, and we are thrilled the team’s away jerseys will feature the Fiji Airways brand from 2020.

“Our team’s largest fan base outside of New Zealand is in Fiji, which is unsurprising given the overwhelming support we have from local fans whenever the team has played a Super Rugby match in Suva. We look forward to engaging more of our Fijian fans through this partnership, and strengthening our connection with Fiji Airways, as they’re both such an important part of our club.”

The Crusaders team wear their away strip for all Investec Super Rugby fixtures played outside of New Zealand and the 2020 season will see them play in Australia, South Africa and for the first time in Tokyo, Japan. The side will also wear their away jerseys on 8th February, when the Crusaders take on the Chiefs in Hamilton.

André Viljoen, Fiji Airways Managing Director & CEO says, “We’re proud to be part of the Crusaders family since 2017 and to be taking our partnership to the next level as front-of-jersey sponsor for the team’s 2020 away games.

“New Zealanders love their rugby just as much as Fijians, and we’re lucky to share values and enjoy a great synergy with the beloved Crusaders in such an important market.

“We look forward to supporting the Crusaders and their fans as they target another successful season.”

Another exciting announcement about the Crusaders home front-of-jersey sponsor is set to follow, on Monday 2 December.

Meanwhile long-term Crusaders sponsor, BNZ, will continue their relationship with the club as the Official Bank of the Crusaders, but will no longer feature on the front of the team’s jersey or as naming-rights sponsor.
