Ethiopian and Tanzania Tourist Board Partner to Enhance Tourism Flow

2012-12-21 — /travelprnews.com/ — Ethiopian Airlines and the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to increase tourist flow to Tanzania via Ethiopian Airlines. The agreement between Ethiopian and TTB is meant to increase and greatly enhance the tourism flow to both Tanzania and Ethiopia.

The agreement entails Ethiopian support to Tanzanian tour operators by giving their clients priority seating, and joint promotion of Ethiopian and Tanzanian tourism destinations in international markets in North America, Europe and Asia.

“Tanzania is one of the oldest African destinations of Ethiopian. We started flights to Dar-es-Salaam in 1966 and we were the first airline to operate to Kilimanjaro. It also became our first choice in the dream tour flights of our first 787 Dreamliner. We are excited by this partnership that will see Ethiopian and the TTB work together to increase traffic to the biggest tourism attractions in East Africa,” said CEO Tewolde Gebremariam.

Currently, Ethiopian has 42 weekly flights from Addis Ababa to Dar-es-Salaam, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar, with connecting services to cities throughout Europe, North America, Middle East and Africa, including Frankfurt, Paris, London, Rome, Milan, Washington, Dubai, Johannesburg, Muscat and Stockholm.
