China’s Hainan Airlines started Boeing 787 Dreamliner service between Beijing and Chicago

Chicago, Il, United States, 2013-11-29 — /travelprnews.com/ — China’s Hainan Airlines initiated the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner service between Beijing and Chicago on November 26. Hainan’s nonstop service at O’Hare International Airport will now be operated exclusively with the Dreamliner.

Chicago is one of the first cities in the United States to have nonstop service with the Dreamliner to China. Hainan has served Chicago since September 3. Beginning December 10, the airline will double its frequency on the route to four times weekly – Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

“On behalf of Mayor Rahm Emanuel, I want to thank Hainan Airlines for continuing to add service to Chicago. Hainan’s service to Beijing has been a welcome addition to O’Hare International Airport, offering travelers more choices and helping to increase business opportunities and tourism between two world-class cities,” said Rosemarie S. Andolino, Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Aviation. “The exceptional flight experience Hainan offers its customers will be further enhanced with the use of Boeing’s new 787 aircraft.”

Hainan Airlines’ Chicago-Beijing route is estimated to generate approximately $85 million in annual economic impact for the Chicago region.

The Dreamliner carries 213 passengers in a two-class configuration, with 36 Business Class and 177 Economy Class seats. The aircraft has unique features such as larger windows with a dimming feature, mood lighting, spacious overhead bins and a higher cabin humidity so that passengers arrive more refreshed after a long flight.

Hainan Airlines is mainland China’s only certified Skytrax® five-star airline and is the only Chinese airline operating the Dreamliner to the United States.
