Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA): food truck operators can apply for business at O’Hare International Airport

Chicago, IL, 2018-Apr-06 — /Travel PR News/ — The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) is inviting food truck operators to apply for business at O’Hare International Airport. The CDA launched the first registration for its new permanent food truck program in January 2018. To build upon the interest already generated, the CDA is calling upon more food truck providers to enroll this month as the department aims to bring more food options to the commercial vehicle holding and Transportation Network Provider areas year-round.

The CDA’s Food Truck Program is designed to service the needs of taxicab and limousine drivers as well as airport employees who provide services at O’Hare International Airport.

The new program, still in its infancy stage, has generated interest with many mobile food truck operators who registered for the start of the program in January 2018. For this reason, CDA is opening registration once again to mobile food truck operators who missed the first registration deadline.

Heading into the food truck peak season, operators can apply for access to operate at select locations around the airport including the Commercial Vehicle Holding Area (cab and limousine staging area) and other outlying airport facilities and vehicle staging areas.

The second registration period will run from Wednesday, April 4, 2018 until Friday, April 13, 2018.

Mobile food vendors licensed under the City of Chicago’s Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) are encouraged to register with CDA.

For more information about the program, including instructions for how to apply to the program and details on the designated food truck areas at O’Hare, please visit the food truck information portal on the CDA’s website at this address: www.flychicago.com/ordfoodtrucks
