Celebrate National Endangered Species Day at ZooAmerica

Hershey, Pa., 2013-05-08 — /travelprnews.com/ — ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park invites visitors recognize the importance of endangered species on Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In honor of the eighth annual national Endangered Species Day, Zoo staff will have interactive table displays showcasing conservation efforts and why extinction matters. Guests can participate in a scavenger hunt to locate animals throughout the Zoo that are endangered, threatened or no longer listed on the endangered species list.

Additional activities include an Endangered Species Animal Program at 1 p.m. and animal enrichment activities and feedings with featured endangered species including the black-footed ferrets at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.; thick-billed parrots at 11:30 a.m.; and ocelots at 2:30 p.m.

Endangered Species Day is recognized by accredited zoos and aquariums across the nation. Created by the United States Senate, the day is celebrated on the third Friday in May.
