With the busy holiday season upon us, O’Hare and Midway International Airports are alive with live music, beautiful decorations, shops filled with great holiday gifts and even some magical surprises.
The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) will host school choirs, jazz and blues bands, barbershop quartets and strolling carolers on select days throughout December at both airports.
Later this week, holiday elves and “Merry Makers” will be spreading cheer at O’Hare by giving away special gifts to lucky travelers. In addition, concessionaires at both O’Hare and Midway will host Gifts & Gadgets Shops featuring a collection of great items that make the perfect holiday gift.
The Gifts & Gadget Shops will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at both airports on Wednesday, December 9 and Thursday, December 10. Passengers will find it quick and easy to purchase stocking stuffers and gifts for the holidays all in this one location. Choose from ornaments, headphones, toys, chocolates, treats and more. The pop-up shop at O’Hare will be located in Terminal 1 near Gate B11 and at Midway in Concourse A.
On Thursday, December 10 and Friday, December 11 from 2 to 5 p.m., passengers at O’Hare International Terminal 5 could have a chance encounter with a “Merry Maker” and receive a very special surprise courtesy of Westfield.
On Friday, December 11 from 9 a.m. to noon, HMSHost Holiday Elves will visit restaurants in O’Hare’s domestic terminals and give away gifts to customers. From electronics, travel accessories and holiday collectibles to beverages and hotel stays, travelers will remember their unique experience at Chicago O’Hare.
