British Airways hosted its Flying Start Ball to help raise money for Comic Relief

 

London, 2017-Apr-11 — /Travel PR News/ — Celebrities including Fleur East, Gary Lineker, Clare Balding, John Bishop and Ali Campbell attended British Airways’ Flying Start Ball this evening (Friday April 7), to help raise money for the airline’s charity partnership with Comic Relief.

Held at The Grove in Hertfordshire, the event included golf, an auction and performances from Fleur East and John Bishop, to raise nearly a quarter of a million pounds.

Singer Fleur East, said: “It was a pleasure to perform at this very special event, which has raised thousands of pounds for a very important charity.  It was fun to see all the celebrities and guests bopping along and enjoying themselves!”

The annual fundraiser has been taking place for 13 years, this year hosted by presenter Gaby Logan.

Troy Warfield, British Airways’ director customer experience, said:  “With Red Nose Day fresh in our thoughts, it’s a timely reminder that it’s not just one day of fundraising – but our year round efforts that make a difference.

“We’ve raised £15 million for Comic Relief over the past seven years, and it’s thanks to everyone involved in events like this today, that we continue to achieve so much.

” For Red Nose Day this year, British Airways teamed up with celebrities David Walliams, Emma Bunton and Tom Daley to produce a series of comedy videos at youtube.com/britishairways. They have so far received more than 380,000 views.
