ANA to Revolutionize Passenger Experience with New Fare Options and Integrated Flight Systems by 2026

(IN SHORT) Starting May 19, 2026, All Nippon Airways (ANA) will enhance the passenger experience by integrating its domestic and international flight systems. This will include new fare options—Standard, Flex, and Simple—designed to offer more flexibility for both domestic and international travelers. ANA will also standardize booking and boarding rules across all flights, including unified baggage policies and name recording in the Hepburn Roman alphabet. New connecting flight options, one-way itineraries for Flight Awards, and extended shareholder discount card validity are among other updates. These changes aim to streamline travel, making it more convenient and flexible for passengers, while supporting ANA’s commitment to providing an exceptional travel experience.

(PRESS RELEASE) TOKYO, 2025-May-22 — /Travel PR News/ — All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest airline and a 5-Star airline for 12 consecutive years, is set to transform the travel experience for its customers. Starting on May 19, 2026, ANA will integrate its domestic and international flight systems, introduce new, more flexible fare options, and standardize booking and boarding rules across all flights to enhance the overall passenger journey.

“We are committed to providing our customers with the most seamless and enjoyable travel experience possible,” said Keiji Omae, Executive Vice President of Customer Experience at ANA. “With these changes, we are offering more choices, flexibility, and a unified experience for both domestic and international travelers.”

To meet the evolving needs of travelers, ANA is revising its fare structure for domestic flights. The new system will offer three distinct fare categories: Standard, Flex, and Simple.

The Standard fare includes essential services like advance seat reservations and upgrade eligibility. Passengers can modify their bookings for a fee, and this option is available for purchase up to one day before departure.

The Flex fare offers maximum flexibility, including same-day flight changes and purchases up to the day of departure, with no additional fees.

The Simple fare caters to cost-conscious passengers, with fewer additional services and available for purchase up to one day before departure.

In addition, ANA will introduce more flexible round-trip fares, offering customers the ability to enjoy reduced pricing. Connecting flight options will also be expanded, with layovers of up to 24 hours available.

In line with these changes, ANA will introduce new connecting itineraries for Domestic Flight Awards, while eliminating the “4 Sectors Involving Okinawa’s Outlying Islands” option starting May 18, 2026. Starting June 24, 2025, ANA International Flight Awards will offer one-way ticket options, complementing the existing round-trip options.

As part of ANA’s integration with the international flight systems provided by Amadeus, key updates will align reservation and boarding rules across domestic and international flights, effective for all flights departing on or after May 19, 2026. Changes will include:

  • Unified Conditions of Carriage: Passenger baggage rules will be standardized across both domestic and international flights.
  • Name Recording: Passenger names will be recorded using the Hepburn Roman alphabet, instead of katakana.
  • Children’s Seating: Children over two years old will need a reserved seat, and the age limit for infants will be redefined to one year and under.
  • Non-ANA Mileage Club Members: These passengers will gain access to online seat reservations for eligible fares.
  • Shareholder Discount Card: The validity of ANA Domestic Flights Shareholder Discount Cards will be extended to one and a half years.

Additional adjustments will be made to boarding procedures, including check-in for code-share flights, and further details will be shared closer to the implementation date.

With these sweeping changes, ANA aims to provide a more intuitive and convenient experience for all passengers, whether they are traveling domestically or internationally. These enhancements reflect ANA’s ongoing commitment to providing top-tier customer service and adapting to the ever-evolving needs of the global traveler.
