IAA’s Corey Wilson named to Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series

INDIANAPOLIS,  2012-07-23 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) congratulates Corey Wilson, director of supplier diversity and IND Aerotropolis for the IAA, for being named as a member of Class XXXVII of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series.

Members are selected based on their significant community involvement and professional achievement; their demonstrated interest in community issues; a record of participation and achievement in voluntary community activities; and their willingness to expand their leadership roles in the community.

Wilson is one of 25 young professionals to be accepted into the highly competitive series. He is the second IAA executive to be named to the series in as many years; Senior Finance Director Marsha Stone was a member of Class XXXVI.

“It is an honor to join my fellow selectees in this year’s SKL and to follow in the footsteps of the many prominent citizens of Central Indiana who make up its alumni and who have made a lasting contribution to our region,” said Wilson. “I look forward to this opportunity not only for personal development but as a way to further support the Indianapolis Airport
Authority’s dedication to improving the quality of life and economic development in Central Indiana.”
Wilson leads the IAA’s commitment to supplier diversity through its Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program, overseeing compliance and mentoring programs associated with IAA construction, concessionaire, and professional services contracts. He also leads the IND Aerotropolis land development initiative. He holds an MBA from Purdue University.

Last month, he was elected to an at-large seat on the board of the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC), the only national, non-profit trade association dedicated to promoting the full participation of minority-, women-, and disadvantaged-owned business enterprises in airport contracting and the inclusion of minority and women employment.

Dr. Charles Bantz, IUPUI Chancellor, has been named Moderator for Class XXXVII. To ensure that the series is timely and topical, each class’s moderator identifies aspects of broad economic and societal issues that are specific to Central Indiana for the class to study.

Class XXXVII will meet monthly from September through June. Participants will interactwith local leaders, professional experts, and community decision makers to discuss issues such as the region’s quality of life, education, and economic development.

The series is named in honor of Stanley K. Lacy, an Indianapolis banker and active participant in civic projects, who died in a tragic automobile accident in 1973 at the age of 27.
