New Hong Kong–Munich Flights Push Cathay Pacific Toward 100 Weekly European Return Services

(IN SHORT) Cathay Pacific has launched its first direct flights between Hong Kong and Munich, operating four weekly services on the Airbus A350-900. This addition follows the Rome seasonal route and precedes Brussels’s return service. Alongside HK Express, the airline group now connects customers to 100 destinations globally, having introduced 18 new cities in 2025. Cathay Pacific’s summer schedule will encompass nearly 100 weekly round-trips to 12 major European hubs, while Cathay Cargo will run seven weekly freighter flights to Europe. The new Munich service strengthens Hong Kong’s role as a premier aviation gateway, offering travelers enhanced connectivity and seamless onward journeys.

(PRESS RELEASE) HONG KONG, 2025-Jun-16 — /Travel PR News/ — Cathay Pacific today inaugurated its inaugural non-stop service between Hong Kong and Munich, marking the airline’s first direct link to Bavaria’s capital. This new route reinforces Cathay Pacific’s expanding European network, coming on the heels of its seasonal Rome connection launched on 5 June and paving the way for its Brussels return on 3 August.

Together with sister carrier HK Express, the Cathay Group now serves 100 passenger destinations worldwide, having added 18 new cities in 2025 alone—Cathay Pacific to Munich and Rome, and HK Express to Cheongju, Daegu, and soon Miyako (Shimojishima). These additions offer travelers enhanced global connectivity and choice.

Lavinia Lau, Chief Customer and Commercial Officer at Cathay Pacific, commented:

“Introducing Munich to our route map offers a direct gateway between Hong Kong and one of Europe’s foremost economic, manufacturing, and transport centers. Passengers can immerse themselves in Munich’s rich culture, art, and innovation scenes or continue their journeys onward via our codeshare partners. Meanwhile, inbound travelers benefit from seamless connections across our 100-strong global network, further cementing Hong Kong’s status as an international aviation hub.”

Cathay Pacific will operate four weekly round-trips on this route—flight CX301 departs Hong Kong at 01:10, arriving in Munich at 07:55; return flight CX300 leaves Munich at 13:55, touching down in Hong Kong at 06:50 the following day. Both flights run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, serviced by the Airbus A350-900, featuring fully flat beds in Business Class, generous Premium Economy seating, and comfortable Economy cabins.

Including the forthcoming Brussels service, Cathay Pacific will offer nearly 100 weekly return flights to 12 European cities this summer—Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Munich, Paris, Rome, and Zurich. Meanwhile, Cathay Cargo will deploy seven freighter rotations each week between Europe and Hong Kong during the peak season.
