Marco Polo inaugurated its new hotel in Manila in grand style

Manila, Philippines, 2014-7-23 — /Travel PR News/ — MARCO POLO recently inaugurated its new hotel in Manila in grand style last July 09, 2014. The first Marco Polo Hotel to open in the capital of the Philippines signals a whole new dimension in showcasing the renowned brand of Asian hospitality embodied in the pioneering spirit of Marco Polo. A landmark transformation was finally unveiled with this milestone occasion – the grand opening of the brand new Marco Polo Ortigas Manila.

Entitled “VOYAGE:  The Marco Polo Ortigas Manila Grand Launch Affair”, the event was a well-organized and highly-attended celebration reminiscent of a grand luxury cruise. This symbolizes how the hotel can transcend the ordinary and take its guests into a wonderful journey of sensory indulgences.  The guests – which were an interesting mix of business tycoons, government officials and politicians, members of the diplomatic community, society figures and Manila’s fashionable set- were literally transported into the world of Marco Polo to celebrate the romance and adventure of travel.  To complement the event’s splendour, the keynote speech was delivered by none other than the President of the Republic of the Philippines, H.E. Benigno S. Aquino III with Guests of Honor, Secretary Ramon R. Jimenez Jr. of the Department of Tourism and Mayor Maribel Eusebio of Pasig City.

Each level from the cruise itinerary was ingenious and well-though-of. The hotel offered various themes and inspiring entertainment such as jazz ensemble performances, aerial ballet, a grand fireworks display that lit the Ortigas cityscape and a fashion show exhibiting the world-class designs and artistry of fashion accessory designer Ann Ong and dress designer Rhett Eala.  The event has also been a delicious gastronomic journey altogether.  A smorgasbord of international cuisine and flowing drinks kept the party going at every point of the journey.  Guests travelled from the ground floor to the Grand Ballroom on the 7th floor, all the way up to the 24th floor Sky Lobby and all-day dining restaurant Cucina. Then they go to Lung Hin, the newly-opened authentic Cantonese restaurant and the Marco Polo signature Continental Club Lounge which are both located at the 44th floor. And finally, the VU’s sky lounge and tapas bar where the view from the topmost floor was every bit as spectacular.  It was simply magical and truly an affair to remember.

In the keynote speech of H.E. Benigno S. Aquino III, he remarked, “Just as Marco Polo, the traveler from whom you derived your name, became renowned for his account of his journey to the East, I am hopeful that this Marco Polo hotel truly becomes another gateway for tourists to discover our country, so that they may tell their friends, their family, and their colleagues back home just how fun it is here in the Philippines.”

As a testament, hundreds of excited guests were all engaged during the entire festivity from beginning to end and embraced the spirit of Marco Polo.  Meaningful journeys begin at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila.

The success of the event was made possible with the help of the following partners: Trends and Technologies, Inc., Triplewell Construction Company, Rider Levett Bucknall Philippines, Inc., Mit-Air Inc., KLG International, Inc., KC Industrial Corporation, Eurochef Hongkong Limited, Euroasia Marble & Granite Inc., Crimson Group, Inc., Signum Event Engineering, L’Oreal Paris, Maybelline New York and the Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP). The hotel would also like to thank its media partners, Lifestyle Network and NBC Universal Networks International (E! News Channel).
