The service will bring additional tourism, travel and other economic benefits to Alberta, creating the equivalent of more than 70 jobs and adding more than $10 million to Alberta’s GDP.

“We are pleased to return to Calgary as it helps us to increase not only our flight network but to also propel cultural and tourism exchange between Canada and Mexico. On behalf of the Aeromexico family, I thank the Calgary Airport Authority and Travel Alberta for their continuous support. This air bridge is a manifest of Mexico’s global airline to keep striving in order to offer its clients the best connectivity options” added Anko van der Werff, Aeromexico’s Chief Revenue Officer.

“We are pleased that AeroMexico is reestablishing a link between Calgary and Mexico City this summer,” said Royce Chwin, CEO of Travel Alberta. “This flight will allow us to welcome more Mexican travellers to Alberta and further develop lasting economic ties between our two countries.”

YYC Calgary International Airport offers non-stop flights to more than 82 destinations across Canada and around the world, and the connectivity available through YYC to other parts of the country was an important factor in the airline’s decision to begin operations out of Calgary.
