Wyndham Vacation Ownership Honored as “Best Place to Work” in Southern Nevada

Orlando, Fla. –  2012-11-21 — /travelprnews.com/ — Wyndham Vacation Ownership (WVO) was recently named the top employer for mega companies in southern Nevada by The Southern Nevada Human Resources Association. Recognizing top Southern Nevada employers for innovative human resource practices and programs, this marks the second year that WVO has placed first in their category.

With four WVO timeshare resorts and more than 1,300 associates in the Las Vegas area, WVO offers employees a culture focused on learning, development and recognition. The WVO Learning & Development department offers a robust variety of training courses, leadership development plans and problem-solving solutions to common workplace issues. In addition, employees are recognized through companywide programs such as Making a Difference, providing employees the opportunity to award their peers for exceptional work.

“It is truly an honor to be recognized in this manner as we are extremely committed to being an employer of choice in the marketplace,” said Sarah King, executive vice president of Human Resources for WVO. “We believe our associates are our most important asset, and we are dedicated to making our work environment the best it can be by providing a variety of training and development programs, employee resource group offerings and leadership and community service opportunities.”

As part of the company’s philanthropic program, Wishes by Wyndham, employees are encouraged to volunteer and raise funds for WVO’s signature charity, SeriousFun Children’s Network. Recently, Las Vegas employees raised nearly $30,000 for the SeriousFun camp, The Painted Turtle, through various fundraising activities including office casual days and friendly department competitions. Employees are also offered one day of paid-time-off annually for community service, allowing them the chance to give back to their local area.

As the world’s largest vacation ownership company, WVO provides a wide-range of benefits including medical/dental/vision coverage, travel discounts, matching 401k, as well as work-life balance options, and educational assistance, including tuition reimbursement for higher education degree credit courses and certificate programs.
