voco Hotels Expansion Across Six Mexican Cities Highlights Mexico’s Growing Tourism and Hospitality Investment

Six new voco hotels are planned to open in 2027 across Mexico’s largest markets.

(NEWS) MEXICO CITY, 2025-Sep-11 — /Travel PR News/ — IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of six new voco hotels across Mexico in partnership with Alliance Hotels, marking a major expansion of its premium brand in the country. Scheduled to open in 2027, the conversions will bring voco properties to Cancun, Guadalajara, Ciudad Juarez, San Luis Potosi, Torreon, and Nuevo Laredo, adding 848 rooms to IHG’s portfolio in Mexico.

The hotels, which will undergo extensive renovations, are set to feature voco’s signature hallmarks such as warm service, vibrant social spaces, and distinctive design. According to IHG, this expansion strengthens the brand’s presence in Mexico, which already includes four operating and five pipeline hotels, while also contributing to a global pipeline of 102 properties. Executives from both IHG and Alliance Hotels emphasized that the partnership will not only enhance the competitiveness of the converted properties but also give owners access to IHG’s global distribution system, technology, and loyalty program. With locations positioned in high-demand leisure and business hubs, the six hotels aim to capture both domestic and international travelers while boosting the brand’s recognition across Mexico’s most important commercial and tourism markets.

Mexico’s hotel and leisure landscape is also set for major growth with several new projects from other global players. Hyatt will introduce Park Hyatt Cancun and Grand Hyatt Mexico Santa Fe in 2025, followed by Grand Hyatt Los Cabos in 2026 and Hyatt Place Cancun Airport later that year, alongside the Hyatt Centric Querétaro lifestyle property opening in 2025. These developments will add luxury resorts, urban hotels, and select-service offerings across key tourism and business hubs. Meanwhile, Royal Caribbean will debut its Perfect Day Mexico private destination on the Caribbean coast in 2027, spanning more than 200 acres and featuring record-breaking waterslides, the world’s longest lazy river, adults-only retreats, and upscale beach clubs, positioning Mexico as one of the most dynamic travel markets in the Americas.
