KIEV, UKRAINE, 2016-Jun-21 — /Travel PR News/ — Ukraine International Airlines and Tabletochki International Charity Fund summarize the performance of the first year of the joint charity program. Over eighty seriously ill children and their families, that needed to travel abroad to receive medical care, were provided with free tickets.

In summer 2015, UIA and Tabletochki Fund launched the joint charity initiative designed to help seriously ill children. Within twelve-months` period UIA provided the Fund`s supervisees with over 160 free tickets.

The partners seek to help seriously ill children who need to get a bone marrow transplant from an unrelated donor. The carrier also grants free tickets to the Fund`s supervisees who need to travel abroad to undergo follow-up examination after bone marrow transplantation.

“We are glad to contribute to seriously ill children`s treatment and rehabilitation by helping them travel abroad and reach foreign medical institutions, – noted Evgeniya Satska, UIA Corporate Press Secretary. – The UIA team provides these children and their companions with full cooperation including priority check-in and meeting all special needs of the little travelers”.

“Regrettably, today few seriously ill Ukrainians have an opportunity to get professional medical care within our country because of legal restrictions and poor maintenance and supplying of medical care institutions. We help patients to receive medical care abroad. Thanks to the support provided by our partner, Ukraine International Airlines, we managed to save approximately 1.6 million UAH on tickets for our supervisees”, – noted Irina Litovchenko, Fundraising and Public Relations Director at Tabletochki International Charity Fund.

According to statistics, annually over 300 children need to get a bone marrow transplant from an unrelated donor. These children can receive medical care in foreign clinics only. Average cost of bone marrow transplantation amounts to 135 thousand Euro.
