New Delhi, 2013-05-07 — /travelprnews.com/ — Keeping up the efforts to promote Thailand as a Golf Paradise and to attract the growing golf segment in India, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will collaborate with Thai Airways International to promote Thai Airways International as a “Golf Friendly Airline” by waiving off fees relating to the Golf Bag on all Thai Airways/THAI Smile routes originating from India to Thailand in selected classes. The offer is valid from 1 May to 31 October 2013.
TAT recently appointed India’s ace golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar to be its Brand Ambassador to promote golf tourism across Thailand in order to project the country as one of the most sought after golfing destinations.
Thai Airways International has 52 flights a week, non-stop from India to Thailand and has been operating to the country for the past 53 years starting with Kolkata. It has operations from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore, apart from seasonal services to Varanasi and Gaya. The airline recently launched THAI Smile, a sub brand of Thai Airways which flies a non-stop service twice a week from New Delhi to Phuket, Mumbai to Phuket, and Ahmedabad to Bangkok.
Recently, Thailand hosted the Touché Golf League in Bangkok, Indian Golf Tourism Association (IGTA) tournament in Phuket, and Take Solutions-World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC) tournament in Bangkok.
