Sydney, Australia, 2013-10-23— /travelprnews.com/ — Revamped travel app to inspire more visits Down Under
“We broke new ground when we launched this app back in June 2012, but it was always our intention that this would be something that we would evolve, in terms of content, functionality and usability. Apart from being visually stunning, the new version is richer in content, easier to use and more interactive in helping to tell Australia’s story”

Tourism Australia is hoping to inspire more travellers to take a holiday Down Under with the launch of an revamped version of its There’s Nothing Like Australia mobile travel app.
The upgraded app has been developed by PadWorx Digital Media Inc. and includes additional destination content (Adelaide, Darwin, Hobart, Kakadu and Perth), more personalisation, easier navigation and improved usability.
New features added to enhance the app’s interactive content includes Google™ maps, social media integration, streaming video and downloadable narration in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, German, and Korean.
Also included is a unique ‘Interest Wizard’ allowing travellers to customize the app’s content according to their preferred travel experiences, from “Beaches” to “Outback” to “Food and Wine.”
Tourism Australia Managing Director Andrew McEvoy said the changes incorporated feedback from users of the original version of the app as well as new research and extensive usability testing carried out by global research agency, TNS.
“We broke new ground when we launched this app back in June 2012, but it was always our intention that this would be something that we would evolve, in terms of content, functionality and usability. Apart from being visually stunning, the new version is richer in content, easier to use and more interactive in helping to tell Australia’s story,” he said.
The app allows users to access detailed travel information about each featured destination, including things to do and places to stay in the area.
Travellers can take advantage of holiday ideas and recommendations, based on their own particular interests and travel preferences – and also share content with friends and family through their social media channels.
The app also provides handy links to additional information, including Tourism Australia’s consumer website (www.australia.com) as well more than 140 Australian tourism experiences and operators.
Space required to run the app has been decreased from 500+mb to approximately 200mb, also helping to increase the speed at which it can be downloaded.
The There’s Nothing Like Australia app is free to download and available for tablet devices using Apple and Android operating systems.
