(IN SHORT) Tirana International Airport continues to grow, with Croatia Airlines increasing its Tirana-Zagreb flight frequency to three weekly services starting in July 2025. The expanded route will offer greater flexibility for travelers between Albania and Croatia. This increase supports the strong demand for international connectivity and highlights Tirana’s continued growth as a key airport hub. The expansion also complements Croatia Airlines’ overall growth plans, with more flights and destinations available during the 2025 tourist season.

(PRESS RELEASE) TIRANA, Albania, 2025-May-21 — /Travel PR News/ — Tirana International Airport (TIA) continues to grow as a key hub in the region, with Croatia Airlines increasing its flight frequency between Tirana and Zagreb this July. Starting in July 2025, the airline will operate three weekly flights—on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays—up from two flights previously, offering more convenience and flexibility for passengers traveling between the two capitals. This seasonal route, which was successfully introduced last year, remains a vital link during the busy travel season.

Return tickets are available starting from €143 through the airline’s website: www.croatiaairlines.com.

Supporting Growth in Albania’s Tourism and Connectivity

Piervittorio Farabbi, Chief Operations Officer of Tirana International Airport, commented: “This is an important milestone for TIA. With more than 50 airlines operating year-round, we continue to see growth. The expansion of our terminal and runway is in response to increasing demand, ensuring we provide the best possible experience for all passengers.”

The announcement of increased flights also supports Albania’s growing role as a popular destination for Croatian tourists, as highlighted by the Croatian National Tourist Board. Renata Dezeljin, Member of the Croatian Tourist Board, said: “Albanian travelers are always welcome in Croatia, a country known for its stunning coastlines, rich gastronomy, and vibrant year-round tourism offerings.”

A Boost to Regional Connectivity

Marija Pavić, Sales Director at Croatia Airlines, stated: “After successfully launching the Zagreb-Tirana route last year with two weekly flights, we are pleased to offer an additional Tuesday flight starting in July. The Albanian market shows great potential, not just for travelers heading to Croatia but also for those using Zagreb as a transfer hub to other European destinations like the UK, Germany, Switzerland, and Scandinavia.”

The increased frequency of this route also complements Croatia Airlines’ broader expansion plans, with the airline set to operate flights to 30 international destinations across 31 European airports during the 2025 tourist season. The increase in capacity, with over 18,200 flights and more than 2.26 million seats available, reflects the growing demand for international travel.
