Tammy Faye is a biographical musical based on the life of American evangelist Tammy Faye Messner. The show is the first fully-staged musical since 2018 at the Palace Theatre, which underwent extensive renovations after being lifted 30 feet above Times Square. With music by Sir Elton John, the show follows the story of the eccentric, glamorous, caring, emotive, and nonjudgmental woman whose shameless compassion for the LGTBQ+ community set herself apart from her evangelical Christian community. Opening night is scheduled for November 14, 2024.
A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical will open on November 11, 2024 at the legendary Studio 54. With Tony Award® winner James Monroe Iglehart in the starring role, this musical follows Armstrong’s life and loves, brought to life by his timeless hits including “What a Wonderful World.” With countless awards, including 12 posthumous Grammy Hall of Fame acknowledgments, Armstrong’s music still speaks to listeners from around the world nearly 100 years later.
These two new productions join the Broadway Collection, alongside 22 other shows around New York City, including long-running Broadway hits, new musicals and plays, Off-Broadway favorites, as well as opera and ballet.
