The George Washington Bridge, Bayonne Bridge and Goethals Bridge will be lit pink beginning tonight and throughout the month of October
New York City, New York, United States, 2019-Oct-02 — /Travel PR News/ — The George Washington Bridge, Bayonne Bridge and Goethals Bridge will be lit pink beginning tonight, October 1, and continuing every night throughout October to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This is the 12th year that the George Washington Bridge is being lit to heighten awareness of the disease, and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention and cure. The color pink has become a symbol of solidarity for the Breast Cancer Awareness movement.
This is the first year that both the Goethals and Bayonne bridges join the George Washington Bridge with lighting to mark the annual occasion, using their recently installed LED lighting fixtures.
Each year, Port Authority crews change the light coloring gels to the George Washington Bridge’s LED fixtures during routine maintenance.
