WODEN, Australia, 2015-5-7 — /Travel PR News/ — The Civil Aviation Safety Authority is calling on all Rockhampton pilots to polish up their aviation safety skills.
Local pilots can improve their aviation knowledge and get the latest news on safety at a special briefing being held by CASA in Rockhampton next week.
Issues to be covered include the transition to new pilot licences, ageing aircraft, weather forecasts, communicating with air traffic control and lessons from accidents.
Pilots will be encouraged to raise local air safety issues, ask questions and provide feedback to CASA.
There will also be a focus on introducing new and improved online educational tools for pilots of all ages and qualifications.
CASA’s Peter Gibson says the briefing for Rockhampton pilots is part of a national aviation safety education campaign.
“CASA places a high priority on delivering face-to-face education and support for pilots, particularly in regional Australia,” Mr Gibson says.
“There are important changes being made to improve aviation safety in Australia and all pilots need the latest information.
“We want pilots to have the opportunity to ask as many questions as possible and provide feedback so we can get the best possible safety outcomes.”
The Rockhampton aviation safety briefing is being held on Wednesday 13 May 2015 at 6pm at the Rockhampton Aero Club.
