Swissport International to bring its Aspire lounge to Eindhoven Airport

Opfikon, Switzerland, 2019-Dec-05 — /Travel PR News/ — Swissport International is further expanding its lounge business in Europe. Since September alone, three new Aspire lounges were opened at the UK airports of London Gatwick, Edinburgh and now Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

As part of its airport ground services business Swissport manages 47 lounges at more than 30 airports in 13 countries under its hospitality brand Aspire Airport Lounges. Aspire is open to airline passengers irrespective of their class of travel. The lounges offer a space and amenities that ensure each stay is a rewarding and relaxing experience. Swissport continues to expand its network of Aspire lounges, with the new Eindhoven lounge being already the third airport lounge opening in the past three months. Aspire has previously opened new properties at the UK airports of London Gatwick (Gatwick South) and Edinburgh.

“We are delighted to bring our Aspire brand to Eindhoven Airport. Opening a brand new premium lounge at Eindhoven Airport complements our existing offer in the Netherlands”, says Shaun Weston, Vice President Global Lounges at Swissport International. “Eindhoven is already our fourth lounge in the Netherlands, in addition to three lounges at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport which have been running very successfully.”

Aspire’s newest lounge will be located in the airside sector at Eindhoven Airport, on the first floor near gates 11 and 12. The new lounge offers comfortable seating in a relaxing atmosphere for 60 guests, set within a generous 200 square meters of space. Guests enjoy a wide variety of food and beverage options and local specialties, such as “worstenbroodje”, bringing a taste of the Netherlands to Aspire. The food offer also includes vegetarian and vegan choices and will be available throughout the day. Aspire is conscious about environmental sustainability and has recently announced to minimize single-use plastics in all its lounges.

Swissport operates Aspire lounges at airports in Africa, Europe and North America. Last year, Aspire welcomed over five million passengers across their network. Three more Aspire lounges will open in Ottawa and Halifax, Canada, and in Perth, Australia, in the first half of 2020. The Aspire brand has undergone a refresh and now has a more distinguished look, which has already been implemented at the lounges in Eindhoven and Edinburgh.

In 2018, Swissport International AG provided best-in-class airport ground services for some 282 million airline passengers and handled roughly 4.8 million tons of air freight in 115 cargo warehouses worldwide. Several of its warehouses have been certified for pharmaceutical logistics by IATA’s CEIV. The world’s leader in airport ground services and air cargo handling, with 66,000 employees, achieved consolidated operating revenue of 2.99 billion euros in 2018. At the end of June 2019, Swissport was active at 310 airports in 49 countries on six continents.
