PERTH, Scotland, 2015-8-28 — /Travel PR News/ — In March this year, Stagecoach Supertram’s parent company, Stagecoach Group demonstrated its commitment to the UK Armed Forces by signing a corporate covenant in support the country’s military community.
The voluntary Ministry of Defence written covenant recognises the contribution made by service personnel, reservists, veterans and military families to the UK and the value they bring to businesses across the country.
The pledge – which was signed by Stagecoach Group Chief Executive Martin Griffiths – commits the Group to upholding the key principles of the Armed Forces Covenant which include treating all members of the Armed Forces Community with fairness and respect, and supporting military personnel and their families at all times.
Stagecoach Supertram has committed to helping the armed forces community in a number of ways:

• Guaranteed entry to the first stage of the Supertram recruitment process
• Supertram uses First Military Recruitment and the RFEA -a charity working with service leavers to recruit new members of their engineering team
• Supertram works with local cadet and Territorial Army groups to help inform about Supertram career and employment opportunities
Stagecoach Supertram Managing Director, Margaret Kay said: ‘The importance of the Armed Forces Community to the UK cannot be underestimated. At Supertram we are hugely grateful to our military personnel for the courageous work they do, both at home and abroad, in the interests of British citizens.

We look forward to building a positive relationship with Supertram over the coming months so we can identify ways in which our organisations can work together to the benefit of all concerned.”
