Set to open in 2027, the project will offer 120 hotel rooms and 143 residential units, alongside world-class dining, wellness facilities, and event spaces. This development marks a key step in Marriott’s luxury expansion in Costa Rica, adding to the company’s growing portfolio in the Caribbean and Central America.

(Nasdaq: MAR) is thrilled to announce the signing of an agreement with Solana PA, S.R.L. to introduce the iconic St. Regis Hotels & Resorts brand to Costa Rica. Set on 20 hectares of pristine oceanfront property in the Gulf of Papagayo, in the Guanacaste region, the St. Regis Papagayo will offer guests and residents unrivaled luxury experiences in one of the world’s finest addresses. With construction set to begin in July 2025, the property is expected to open in early 2027.

Inspired by local culture and its breathtaking surroundings, the resort will feature 120 luxury hotel rooms and 143 residential units. Guests will enjoy a variety of upscale amenities, including six gourmet culinary venues. Dining highlights will include Casa Club for casual gourmet fare, The Cliff blending Japanese and Costa Rican influences, a Beach Club & Grill, and the signature St. Regis Bar & Speakeasy. Additionally, the property will feature a St. Regis Library, multiple swimming pools, a spa, an exclusive beach club, and versatile meeting and event spaces totaling 10,225 square feet, including 2,475 square feet of outdoor event space for weddings and banquets.

Strategically located between Panama Bay and Culebra Bay, just 25 minutes from Liberia International Airport, the St. Regis Papagayo will offer 634 linear yards of pristine beachfront and stunning views of the Gulf of Papagayo. Designed by the esteemed Mexican architecture firm, Sordo Madaleno, known for their work on luxury resort projects with Marriott, including St. Regis Costa Mujeres, the St. Regis Papagayo will combine timeless elegance with modern design. Gensler Mexico City has been selected as the principal interior design firm, ensuring every detail exudes luxury and comfort. Maat Handasa will oversee the landscape architecture, while TalentChef will serve as a food and beverage consultant. Wellness expertise will come from Ana Ramirez of Ancestral Handmade Hotels.
