South African Airways Technical acknowledged for maintenance excellence

JOHANNESBURG, 2015-4-15 — /Travel PR News/ — South African Airways Technical (SAAT), the biggest Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Organisation (MRO) on the African continent, has been acknowledged as one of the world’s foremost facilities when it comes to line maintenance.

SAAT has now been shortlisted in the category for Best Line Maintenance Provider as part of the annual Aircraft Technology Engineering & Maintenance Awards (ATE&M Awards).

The prestigious Aircraft Technology Engineering & Maintenance (ATE&M) Awards, now in their fifth year, are produced by MRO Network and are designed to recognise the achievement of organisations and individuals within the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sector of the commercial aerospace aftermarket.

The SAAT Line Maintenance facility offers routine Pre-flight, Transit, Daily, Weekly, CKA, defect rectification, supervision of refueling operations, aircraft exterior cleaning and polishing, interior deep cleaning, short term parking, aircraft towing, ground power services, water and waste services. The network of stations covers both RSA and international locations.

The list of shortlisted companies in the various categories for Best Airframe MRO; Best Component MRO; Best Engine MRO; Best Line Maintenance Provider; Best Logistics Provider; Best OEM for Aftermarket Support; Best Spare Parts Provider, followed the award organisers receiving a record breaking 8,000 votes.

SAAT competes for this title in the global sphere and amongst several high-profile industry professionals such as AFI KLM E&M; AAR; Delta TechOps; Storm Aviation and STS Line Maintenance.

As part of the ATE&M Awards on Wednesday 27 May 2015 at the Royal Garden Hotel, London a Lifetime Achievement Award will be announced at the awards ceremony
