(PRESS RELEASE) HUALĀLAI, Hawaiʻi, 2025-Jul-14 — /Travel PR News/ —Four Seasons Resort Hualālai, the only property on Hawaiʻi Island to hold two Michelin keys, AAA Five-Diamond and Forbes Five-Star distinctions, today announced the appointment of Hawaiʻi native Renson Madarang as its new Cultural Manager. In this pivotal role, Madarang will guide and expand the resort’s cultural initiatives, welcoming guests into the heart of Hawaiian tradition and fostering an authentic aloha experience.
Madarang will oversee the resort’s Ka’ūpūlehu Cultural Center—a tranquil enclave beside the Hualālai Golf Course and just below the recently opened Miller & Lux Hualālai. The Center’s complimentary interactive exhibits and workshops immerse visitors in the islands’ heritage, from lei weaving and ʻukulele instruction to hula and Hawaiian chant. It also serves as a gathering place for kūpuna (elders) to share moʻolelo (stories), preserving the oral traditions that define Hawaiʻi’s living culture.

“Renson’s profound connection to our land and his dedication to cultural stewardship will enrich every stay,” said Charlie Parker, General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Hualālai. “Under his leadership, the spirit of aloha will shine through in all we offer.”
Born in Honolulu with ancestry spanning Hawaiian, Portuguese, and Filipino roots, Madarang holds graduate degrees in music and voice. He is skilled in ulana ʻie ʻie (vine weaving), traditional featherwork—having trained under Kumu Hulu Nui Rick San Nicolas—and oratory arts combining moʻolelo, oli, and protocol. A member of the Royal Order of Kamehameha I, he has contributed to institutions including Puʻukoholā Heiau National Historic Site and Hawaiʻi Opera Theatre.
“I’m honored to welcome guests into a place where every stone and shoreline holds a story,” said Madarang. “Through ‘talk story,’ mele, and hands-on cultural practices, I aim to create moments that resonate long after guests return home.”
