Deputy Governor Wanpen Mungsri emphasized Phetchaburi’s strategic potential as a MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) city, highlighting the forum as an opportunity to showcase the province’s capabilities in hosting international conferences. The region’s rich natural beauty and cultural assets, including the UNESCO-designated Kaeng Krachan Forest Complex and recognition as a City of Gastronomy, position Phetchaburi as an attractive destination for tourists and business travelers alike.
The forum aligns with Thailand’s 20-Year National Strategy, aimed at enhancing the country’s competitiveness in business tourism and promoting Thailand as a hub for international events. The initiative also supports the “Ignite Thailand” program, which connects major cities with emerging destinations, facilitating seamless travel and encouraging sustainable tourism practices.
Salanroj Sutaschuto, Chief Operating Officer of TCEB, noted that the organization has worked closely with Phetchaburi since the bidding phase for PDMF 2024. He expressed confidence that the forum will demonstrate Phetchaburi’s potential as a leading MICE destination and stimulate the local economy through high-quality, sustainable tourism.
Duangjai Koomsa-Ard, Director of the TAT Phetchaburi Office, reaffirmed the commitment to enhancing tourism activities that promote sustainable development and attract both domestic and international visitors. The forum will spotlight Phetchaburi’s natural and cultural attractions while integrating wellness tourism into its offerings.
Attendees at the forum will have the opportunity to experience three specially curated tourism routes: “Sweet and Sour Tastes of Phetchaburi,” “Artisans and Delicacies,” and “Biodiversity at Traditional Salt Fields.” These routes, developed with the support of the Thai Ecotourism and Adventure Travel Association, aim to provide carbon-neutral tourism experiences, with local students guiding participants.
Pipat Patthananusorn, General Manager of Dusit Thani Hua Hin, expressed pride in hosting the forum and emphasized the hotel’s dedication to promoting sustainable tourism, aligning with Phetchaburi’s goal to emerge as an international MICE destination.
PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid highlighted the success of previous PDMF events in Thailand and reiterated the association’s commitment to fostering collaboration among tourism stakeholders.
