Ombili Cultural Experience with San Bushmen in Namibia

Ombili Cultural Experience with San Bushmen in Namibia

In collaboration with the Ombili Foundation and Cultural Village, Onguma Nature Reserve, which is located on the eastern fringe of Namibia’s Etosha National Park, is excited to introduce a new experience – where culture, history & tradition come to life. This exclusive tour offers an authentic, un-touristy opportunity to engage with the San community, gaining insights into their past traditions and present way of life, while directly supporting the Ombili community.

Located an hour’s drive from Onguma, this +/- 2.5-hour guided tour includes visits to the garden, community villages, school, craft centre and a special Bushman Trail. Guests can immerse themselves in the traditions of the San people at the Ombili Culture Centre, where cultural performances include fire-making demonstrations, traditional dancing, and the Ombili Community Choir. The experience concludes with an opportunity to engage with San residents and purchase handmade crafts, such as woven baskets and wood carvings. Ombili means “Peace” in Ukanyama language and it makes for a truly moving, memorable experience.   Watch the video here.
