Marriott Partners with VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY to Open Five Hotels Across Austria, Including Debut of Four Points Flex by Sheraton

The conversion will add over 1,100 rooms to Marriott’s portfolio, with a focus on expanding the midscale segment with the debut of Four Points Flex by Sheraton in Austria. The partnership also includes the addition of the Parkhotel Schönbrunn to the Tribute Portfolio.

This expansion is expected to strengthen Marriott’s presence in the country with the addition of over 1,100 rooms. All five hotels will be converted from existing properties currently operated by VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY under its Austria Trend Hotels brand.

VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY is making a strategic move in the Austrian hospitality market by transitioning five of its Austria Trend Hotels into Marriott’s global brands. The agreement, formalized during a signing ceremony with Marriott International President and CEO Anthony Capuano and VERKEHRSBUERO CEO Martin Winkler, reflects the company’s goal of sustainable growth while providing unique hospitality experiences.

As part of the agreement, Four Points Flex by Sheraton will make its highly anticipated debut in Austria, with four properties expected to convert by Q3 2025. These include Austria Trend Hotel beim Theresianum transitioning to Four Points Flex by Sheraton Vienna Hauptbahnhof and Austria Trend Hotel Salzburg Messe to Four Points Flex by Sheraton Salzburg Messe. In 2026, Austria Trend Hotel Anatol will become Four Points Flex by Sheraton Vienna Mariahilf. Additionally, after significant renovations, Austria Trend Hotel Ananas will become a dual-branded property featuring both Four Points Flex by Sheraton Vienna Naschmarkt and AC Hotel by Marriott Vienna Naschmarkt.

In addition to these conversions, the historic Parkhotel Schönbrunn in Vienna will join Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio, offering guests an elegant blend of Viennese charm and modern comfort, located near the iconic Schönbrunn Palace.

Currently, Marriott’s Austrian portfolio includes 21 properties and nearly 4,000 rooms across 14 brands. These include The Ritz-Carlton, The Luxury Collection, Marriott Hotels, Sheraton, Le Méridien, Renaissance Hotels, Autograph Collection, Tribute Portfolio, Design Hotels, Residence Inn by Marriott, AC Hotels by Marriott, Moxy Hotels, Courtyard by Marriott, and Four Points by Sheraton.
