(PRESS RELEASE) Bethesda, MD, 2024-Nov-27 — /Travel PR News/ — Marriott International’s Luxury Group has revealed the next chapter of its highly successful partnership with renowned auction house Sotheby’s. Titled “Iconic Pieces. Extraordinary Experiences,” this continued collaboration introduces exclusive, curated experiences set to be auctioned at Sotheby’s Luxury Sales in New York this December. Building on the success of their previous offerings, the partnership blends the finest in experiential travel with the allure of collectible art, combining world-class hospitality with Sotheby’s unrivaled expertise in curating exceptional treasures.
New Curated Experiences: A Fusion of Art and Travel
This December, the collaboration will present two exceptional offerings that fuse the artistry of collectible treasures with unforgettable travel experiences, allowing guests to indulge in their passions while exploring some of the world’s most sought-after destinations:
Geneva Grandmasters: A Watchmaking Odyssey, Curated by The Ritz-Carlton
For watch enthusiasts, this exclusive experience offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore the world of horology at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix, Geneva. In partnership with the prestigious watch brand Girard-Perregaux, guests will enjoy a hands-on workshop with the brand’s master artisans, the chance to shop limited-edition timepieces, and a private culinary experience at the Villa Girard-Perregaux in La Chaux-de-Fonds. This experience will be featured in Sotheby’s Important Watches sale on December 6, marking Marriott’s debut in offering an experience during a live auction.
A Taste of France: An Epicurean Voyage, Curated by The Luxury Collection
Guests will check in to the opulent Prince de Galles, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Paris, and embark on a culinary journey through France. This exclusive experience includes a guided tour of Champagne Lallier’s historic Maison in Aÿ, where guests will sample the latest harvests, followed by an afternoon tea hosted by Global Explorer and esteemed chef Laila Gohar. This epicurean voyage will be available for online bidding until December 10, as part of Sotheby’s Finest Wines auction.
Expanding the Boundaries of Luxury
George Hammer, Global Head of Luxury Marketing at Marriott International, stated, “Our expanded partnership with Sotheby’s exemplifies our belief that true luxury merges the tangible with the intangible. We are excited to offer experiences that celebrate our guests’ passions and forge deeper connections to the artistry that defines them. This collaboration continues to evolve, and we look forward to offering even more dynamic and unprecedented experiences worldwide.”
Eléonore Dethier, Sotheby’s Global Head of Partnerships, echoed these sentiments, saying, “This collaboration is the perfect intersection of Sotheby’s expertise in curating exceptional collectibles and Marriott’s unmatched approach to hospitality. Together, we create moments that transcend traditional luxury, elevating the guest experience to new heights of sophistication and savoir-faire.”
Looking Ahead
In addition to these exclusive auction experiences, the ongoing partnership will showcase Marriott’s expertise in hospitality, curated events, and exclusive content when Sotheby’s public exhibitions open on December 5.
