Maldives organized Familiarisation trip for the Indian main stream media

MALDIVES, 2015-9-15 — /Travel PR News/ — Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation (MMPRC) together with the Maldives PR representative to India, Think Strawberries, has organized a Familiarisation trip for the Indian main stream media. This FAM trip kicked off with the group’s arrival at Meeru Island Resort & Spa on 9th September. They were greeted and welcomed at the airport by MMPRC officials. This media FAM trip serves the purpose of conveying positive messages to the market through the journalists by experiencing this unique beauty that lies in the heart of the Indian Ocean.

The journalists will be covering three other properties during this trip including Paradise Island Resort & Spa, Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi and Adaaran Club Rannalhi. The group will be getting to enjoy the scenic beauty with a mix of excitement through snorkeling, sunset fishing, sunset punch cruise, Disco DJ night and special lunches/dinners hosted by the senior management of the respective properties.

Aside from getting information from the resorts perspective, MMPRC officials would also be meeting the journalists to share overall destination information through a presentation session while also highlighting on future developments for the tourism sector. MMPRC will also be sharing details of specific marketing strategies that will be undertaken targeting the Indian market with particular focus on the Visit Maldives Year 2015 campaign.

Indian market is a growing market contributing to 3.2% of the market share, recorded 3,376 tourists to have arrived in Maldives by the end of July 2015. Maldives being a close destination provides free visa on entry and offers many international and local brands for the tourists to choose from. Also our one island one resort concept makes this a one of a kind destination. MMPRC hopes to strengthen this positive image of the destination among the Indian market which will in turn help boost arrivals from the market.
