Luxury Meets Conscience as Four Seasons George V Paris Honoured for Sustainable Supply Chain Leadership

(NEWS) PARIS, 2025-Oct-29 — /Travel PR News/ — Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris has once again raised the bar for responsible luxury, earning the title of World’s Leading Sustainable Supply Chain Programme from the World’s Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards, according to their press release. This global accolade celebrates the Parisian landmark’s pioneering approach to sustainability — an effort that intertwines environmental stewardship with the elegance and refinement for which the hotel is known.

Over the past few years, the George V has overhauled its operations to embed sustainability into the heart of its business model. The hotel has introduced a responsible purchasing charter that sets out strict environmental and social standards for suppliers across a range of categories, including office supplies, food, and technology. More than 80 percent of its supplies and packaging are now eco-certified, while all wood-based materials come from sustainably managed forests. According to the hotel, two-thirds of its suppliers have already adopted these principles, marking a notable shift in how high-end hospitality approaches procurement.

Beyond the supply chain, the George V has implemented several measures aimed at reducing its environmental footprint within the property itself. Energy-efficient room systems, reduced water usage, and a waste recycling partnership with the Paris-based organisation Les Alchimistes form part of a wider initiative to make operations more sustainable. The hotel’s rooftop gardens and courtyards now serve as small green sanctuaries for pollinators, with nesting boxes and insect hotels contributing to local biodiversity.

The sustainability drive also extends into social impact. Through partnerships with groups such as Les Hôtels Solidaires, Unisoap and Le Karithé, the hotel redistributes surplus food, recycles used soap, and transforms glass jars into handcrafted candles. These collaborations aim to support inclusion and community employment while reducing waste — blending environmental goals with a commitment to social equity.

Sarmad Zok, CEO of Kingdom Hotel Investments, which owns the property, described the award as part of a broader vision of “responsible luxury,” where quality and conscience coexist. General Manager Thibaut Drege credited the hotel’s staff for helping to transform its approach to hospitality, describing their contribution as essential to turning sustainability from an abstract concept into daily practice.

For the George V, the award serves not just as recognition but as a statement — that modern luxury can be both exquisite and ethical, and that Paris’s grand hotels may well hold the blueprint for a more sustainable future in global travel.
