Los Angeles, California, 2014-5-16 — /Travel PR News/ — Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has scheduled two public forums for the disability community to provide input on any barriers to public programs and services offered at Los Angeles International, LA/Ontario International, and Van Nuys airports.

These meetings will provide an opportunity for interested persons, including individuals with disabilities or organizations representing individuals with disabilities, to participate in a self-evaluation process by submitting their comments.  This self-evaluation process is currently underway and is mandated by Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The meetings will be held at:

  • LA/Ontario International Airport Administration Building, 1923 East Avion Street, on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 from 10 a.m. to noon, City of Ontario.
  • Flight Path Museum and Learning Center at LAX, 6661 West Imperial Highway, on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., City of Los Angeles.

Individuals and organizations that cannot attend may send their comments to:  Lawrence J. Rolon, Coordinator for Disability Services, Los Angeles World Airports, 1 World Way, Los Angeles, CA 90045.  Additional information is available by e-mailing: jrolon@lawa.org , or by calling (424) 646-5005 (via CA Relay 711).

Sign language interpreters, communication-access real-time transcription, assistive listening devices, or other auxiliary aids and/or services may be provided upon request.  To ensure availability, requests should be made at least 72 hours prior to the meeting.  Due to difficulties in securing sign language interpreters, five or more business days’ notice is strongly recommended.
