“As part of our 120-year-old Kempinski heritage, we believe that Christmas is a very special time of year for us and we wish to share it with both our guests and locals. So we have created a truly magnificent festive season, and this year our calendar is full of exceptional events,” states Axel Bethke, General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Bahía.

Exceptional Events

On 30 November, we officially begin the Christmas Celebrations, with our traditional Christmas Market and the Lighting of the Lavish Diamond Christmas Tree by Father Christmas himself! There are stalls to browse through, gifts to buy, choirs singing and, of course, our life-size Gingerbread House!

This year’s Christmas tree will be decorated by Debbie Wingham Diamond Designer. The tree will be adorned with EUR 11 million worth of jewels and precious metals and be unveiled at 18:00, when its lights are turned on. The tree will remain on display till 6 January. In honour of this incredible work of art, we will be celebrating a “Diamonds and Champagne” night on 28 December, with a cocktail dinner reception, live DJ entertainment and the chance for one lucky guest to find a real diamond valued at over EUR 2,500 at the bottom of their champagne glass.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are also very popular at the hotel, and this year the hotel will host a Christmas Eve Cocktail by the Christmas tree and a Gala Dinner especially created for guests by Executive Chef David Fernandez. On Christmas Day, the annual brunch with live music is highly popular, with its incredible cuisine, great atmosphere and kids’ entertainment, plus a visit from Father Christmas as he heads home to the North Pole!

Then during the evenings before New Year’s Eve, the hotel hosts a “Flamenco Night”, “Seafood Special Night” and, of course, the “Diamonds and Champagne” evening, with entertainment to ensure guests keep their festive feeling going till New Year’s Eve.

The Greatest Show

New Year’s Eve is another breathtaking event at the hotel, and the lobby is transformed into a Gala Dinner setting complete with stage and dance floor, where guests ring in the New Year in style at a party they will never forget. The evening begins with a Cocktail Reception before guests take their seats at their chosen venue, either Baltazár Bar & Grill for the “Flying Elephant” Dinner or the main Lobby for “The Greatest Show” Gala Dinner of five courses and entertainment throughout the night. At midnight there are fireworks and the Spanish tradition of 12 grapes to bring good luck for the New Year.

Then guests from both parties join together in the Lobby to dance the night away, whist the younger guests have their own circus-themed party with entertainment and dinner till late as well.

The New Year’s Day Brunch at Baltazár Bar & Grill takes place with live music and fun for everyone. This is a popular event, with friends and families coming together to celebrate the new year in a cosy, relaxed environment.
