2012-12-14 — /travelprnews.com/ — Jörg Schiffmann has been appointed new Vice President Operations Steigenberger Business Hotels at Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts. Since the middle of November, he has been in charge of the implementation of strategic measures to review performance and to secure and continue to develop operational standards in the 35 Business Hotels operated by Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Belgium.
Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG, welcomed the appointment. “We are delighted to be able to have found such an internationally experienced hotel manager as Jörg Schiffmann to take on this newly created role within the Operations Division at Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts”, he commented.
A graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca/New York, Schiffmann took on his first hotel management position at the Country Inn By Carlson in Düsseldorf in 1996. This was followed by career stints in Brussels, St. Petersburg, Oslo and Minneapolis before Jörg Schiffmann joined the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group as Regional Director of Operations Germany. In 2007, he was appointed Area Vice President Operations at Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group with responsibility for hotels in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and South-East Europe.
