2013-04-22 — /travelprnews.com/ — Operated by TAV Airports, Istanbul Ataturk Airport started to host Kiev flights of Ukraine Airlines. On April 22nd, 135 passengers of Ukraine Airlines coming from Kiev were welcomed with a ceremony. Ukraine Consul General for Istanbul Bohdan Yaramenko, TAV Istanbul General Manager Kemal Unlu and Ukraine Airlines Vice President for Commercial and International Relations Simon Bundle attended the ceremony. Passengers were treated to a cake for celebration.
Stating that he has been glad about the launch of the daily reciprocal flights between Kiev and Istanbul, Ukraine Consul General for Istanbul Bohdan Yaramenko thanked Turkish aviation authorities and officials of Istanbul Ataturk Airport. He also added “We are ready to cooperate for the regularity, as well as the security of Kiev-Istanbul flights of Ukraine Airlines.”
TAV Istanbul General Manager Kemal Unlu stated “Today, Ataturk Airport is one of the most precious airports of the world creating the most added value in such a small area. We rank 6th in Europe and 20th in the world. Ukraine is a country that we consider as a friend in terms of history and policy. We are more than happy to welcome them at Ataturk Airport. I would like to mention that they are welcome to use the developing and growing Istanbul as a connection point to the world.”
Stating that Ukraine Airlines, which had been founded in 1992, continued its operations with 21 Boeing B737 aircrafts of its fleet, Ukraine Airlines Vice President for Commercial and International Relations Simon Bundle highlighted the importance of the reciprocal flights between Kiev and Istanbul. He continued “I thank TAV for hosting our flights at Ataturk Airport coming from Kiev.”
Ukraine Airlines launches reciprocal flights between Kiev and Istanbul twice a day for 7 days a week and as from May 14th, 2013 these reciprocal flights will take place 4 times a day. Launching flights to more than 40 cities worldwide, Ukraine Airlines adds Istanbul to its flight web as from April 22nd and aims to meet the high demands for this destination.
