InterContinental Hotels Group starts week-long global awareness and fundraising event for its disaster relief programme IHG® Shelter In a Storm

London, UK, 2014-9-23 — /Travel PR News/ — InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®) employees from over 60 countries around the world are beginning a week-long global awareness and fundraising event in aid ofIHG® Shelter In a Storm, the company’s disaster relief programme and one of its three core corporate responsibility initiatives.

As part of the annual effort IHG, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, is encouraging people to take part in as many different activities as they can and will be making a donation for each act of participation. Over 100,000 colleagues across IHG’s hotels and corporate offices have already signed up, making more than 200,000 pledges to date. Activities pledged so far include one individual who has made a commitment to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

IHG Shelter in a Storm is a critical part of this, helping us prepare our hotels to act quickly and decisively to support guests, colleagues and local communities when disaster strikes.
