Event ‘gives us another reason to gather and celebrate all that is Indianapolis’
INDIANAPOLIS, IN, 2019-Feb-13 — /Travel PR News/ — Love will be in the air at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) on Feb. 14, as Indianapolis Ballet showcases a special performance in Civic Plaza to celebrate the most romantic day of the year.
Six dancers from Indianapolis Ballet will perform selections from their upcoming performance series Love is in the Air from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Valentine’s Day. The airport will sweeten the event for passengers and guests with treats from the South Bend Chocolate Company.
“With regular music and art programs hosted here at IND, our airport provides a deeper value to the public than just a place for planes to land and takeoff,” said Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez. “It’s a community hub for Indianapolis, in reality, connecting people, places andculture – and this Valentine’s Day event gives us another reason to gather and celebrate all that is Indianapolis.”
The airport’s Valentine’s Day showcase performance will present a sample of Indianapolis Ballet’s larger Love is in the Air series, which will include performances of Paquita and Carmen. The series performance will debut on Feb. 15 and runs through Sunday, Feb. 17 at The Toby at Newfields.
“Indianapolis Ballet loves sharing this incredible art form with our community in unique and creative ways,” said Indianapolis Ballet Founding Artistic Director Victoria Lyras. “We sincerely thank Indianapolis International Airport for providing this opportunity to serve as ambassadors for the city by bringing the joy of ballet to travelers on the loveliest day of the year.”
In addition to the Valentine’s Day ballet performance, the Indy airport will continue to expand their current arts and cultural programming.
