Daily nonstop flight to restart on May 15
INDIANAPOLIS, IN, 2022-Feb-24 — /Travel PR News/ — Air Canada will once again fly out of the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) when it restarts its daily flight to Toronto (YYZ) on May 15 on a 50-seater CRJ200 aircraft.
The flight was halted previously due to pandemic challenges in 2020.
“This is another promising sign that air travel is rebounding here at the Indy airport and elsewhere,” said Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority. “Our passenger data from the last part of 2021 signaled that Hoosiers are becoming more open to traveling again, and we’re all on board with that trend.”
Air Canada will also launch a second daily flight to Toronto just two weeks later on June 1.
Toronto-Pearson (YYZ) is Air Canada’s global hub and gives travelers a connection point to the rest of the world, via a convenient nonstop flight from Indy.
“People are ready to travel, and we’re excited to be launching services between Indianapolis and Toronto starting May 15 with daily flights, going to double daily shortly thereafter. With overall travel demand accelerating, our flights linking Indianapolis and the region to Toronto will be of interest to customers travelling on business or visiting family and friends, seeking to explore Canada’s largest city, or looking to conveniently connect onward on flights within Canada or internationally from our global hub,” said Mark Galardo, Senior Vice President, Network Planning and Revenue Management at Air Canada.
