IHG Hotels & Resorts Re-Enters Swedish Market with voco Stockholm Kista
The 201-room hotel is expected to open its doors in the second half of 2024.

This move aligns with IHG’s commitment to growth in emerging markets like Sweden and expands voco hotels, their premium brand. Located in Stockholm’s northern region, Kista, known as Sweden’s Silicon Valley, the 201-room voco Stockholm Kista hotel will be strategically positioned near the Nordic Forum and Ericsson’s Global Headquarters, making it ideal for business travelers. The property, set to open in late 2024, will feature personalized meeting spaces, a restaurant, lobby bar, fitness room, rooftop spa, and garden, enhancing the guest experience in Stockholm.

This latest signing signifies IHG’s strong owner relationships and its commitment to growth in new and emerging markets such as Sweden, drawing on its scale of more than 780 open hotels across Europe.

The announcement follows a number of signings and openings for voco hotels across Europe in the first nine months of 2023, which saw it reach nearly 40* open and signed properties in markets including France, Spain, the UK&I, Austria, Portugal, and Belgium.

voco Stockholm Kista will be strategically located in the northern region of Stockholm, in Kista, dubbed as Sweden’s Silicon Valley – home to the largest Information and Communications Technology (ICT) cluster in Europe. The hotel will be situated adjacent to the Nordic Forum – one of Kista’s largest office redevelopments as well as telecoms company Ericssons Global Headquarters – making voco Stockholm Kista, with its five personalised meeting and events space options, the ideal location for business travellers.
The 201-room property will be complete in late 2024, with a restaurant and lobby bar where guests can come together to recharge, connect, work or celebrate. voco Stockholm Kista will also have a well-equipped fitness room and a tranquil rooftop spa with an indoor swimming pool, as well as a stunning rooftop garden, providing guests with exceptional views of northern Stockholm to help them unwind and relax.
