The collection features five unique scents, each representing a different city—Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Auckland—and will be gifted to guests staying at Hotel Indigo properties across Australia until November 30, 2024. The candles capture the local essence, allowing guests to relive their travel experiences through scent.

(PRESS RELEASE) Sydney, Australia, 2024-Oct-11— /Travel PR News/ — Hotel Indigo, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, has unveiled a limited-edition candle collection inspired by the distinct neighborhoods surrounding its properties across Australia and New Zealand. The “Scents of the Neighbourhood” collection features five unique candles, each crafted to capture the essence of areas where Hotel Indigo properties are located, including Sydney (Potts Point), Melbourne (Flinders Lane), Brisbane (City Centre), Adelaide (Central Markets), and Auckland (City Centre).

Recognizing the powerful connection between scent and memory, Hotel Indigo has created these candles to help guests and locals relive their experiences through aromas that embody the spirit of these vibrant urban areas. Developed in collaboration with an Australian artisan scent studio, each candle is infused with local influences, offering a sensory journey through the iconic neighborhoods.

The five exclusive scents are:

  • Sydney Potts Point: Blending notes of whiskey, rosewood, white musk, and oak, this candle reflects the eclectic and sophisticated vibe of Potts Point, a neighborhood known for its mix of historic charm and modern nightlife.
  • Melbourne on Flinders Lane: Inspired by Melbourne’s bustling laneways and famous café culture, this fragrance combines the aromas of freshly brewed coffee, vanilla buttercream, and tonka bean, evoking memories of Melbourne’s artistic streetscapes.
  • Adelaide Central Markets: Featuring a rich blend of white oak, chocolate, vanilla, and malbec, this scent captures the diversity and vibrancy of Adelaide’s Central Markets and pays homage to the nearby wine regions.
  • Brisbane City Centre: With a fresh mix of eucalyptus, ginger, mint, and cucumber, this candle represents Brisbane’s seamless integration of urban life and nature, reflecting the city’s green spaces and lively nightlife.
  • Auckland City Centre: Drawing inspiration from Auckland’s maritime culture, this scent combines sea salt, ocean breeze, rum, and cane sugar to transport you to the “City of Sails” and its blend of city sophistication and natural beauty.

Hotel Indigo guests staying at properties across Australia until November 30, 2024, will receive a complimentary candle set (valued at $200) as part of this limited-edition collection, available on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last. These custom scents were crafted with input from Hotel Indigo’s guests, who shared their favorite olfactory memories of the neighborhoods.

Dean Jones, Vice President Commercial for East Asia & Pacific (EAPAC) at IHG Hotels & Resorts, highlighted the brand’s commitment to creating immersive, localized experiences: “Hotel Indigo’s ‘Scents of the Neighbourhood’ allows guests and locals to bring a piece of the unique neighborhoods we’re part of back home with them. These candles capture the essence of the places our guests explore, ensuring they can relive those memories long after they leave.”

This new collection is an extension of Hotel Indigo’s “World’s Neighbourhood Hotel” campaign, celebrating the brand’s dedication to reflecting the culture, stories, and individuality of the neighborhoods surrounding its hotels. With four properties in Australia and the upcoming debut of Hotel Indigo Auckland later this year, Hotel Indigo continues to offer personalized, sensory-rich experiences to travelers.
